and leisure divers
The Sea Marshall SMRS-LD
is small and is worn without obstruction by an individual during a dive.
In the event of a lost divers surfacing away from the dive platform, the
PLB can be easily armed and activated. The PLB then transmits a signal
which can be picked up by an onboard reciever to allow the crew to organise
the recovery of the lost diver or if necessart to call upon the Search
& Rescue teams to take over the operation.
The SAR can then track the
PLB on their own equipment. The PLB signal is set to 121.5 MHz which is
the fixed, agreed international homing frequency. The final stages of the
recovery are vastly enhanced by the flashing, electroluminescent antenna
necklace, giving an effective visual reference.
Search and rescue vessels
worldwide are equiped with compatible recievers to monitor and track this
signal.
