Why: Individuals
buy to minimize risk of being lost at sea. When a diver is
reported lost at sea, Search and Rescue can home in on the lost diver beacon
form up to 70 miles away, day or night. In other words SAR can sweep
an entire area of 100 square miles and locate a diver in less than 20 minutes
form fixed wing aircraft. Many dive boat operators either experienced
a near lost diver or understand the risk, have lead the way by being leaders
in safety. A diver cannot be seen or heard form 50 meters, in 1-2
meter swells. The diver beacon, provides an immediate alarm and precision
direction back to the MOB.
